Clyde in the ClassroomŪ

Clyde in the Classroom was introduced to the Foundation by its former Project Officer, John Bray, who developed themes pioneered in this country by the Galloway Fisheries Trust.  Clyde in the Classroom is a hands-on introduction to freshwater ecology and the River Clyde, and uses the life-cycle of the brown / sea trout to engage children with their local environment.

Since 2001, a total of 4585 pupils from 171 classes in 121 schools in 10 local authority areas have participated in Clyde in the Classroom.

The project is carried out in partnership with the Glasgow Science Centre, with funding from Scottish Natural Heritage, the participating councils and a number of charitable grant awarding bodies and private companies.
